April 2026 Release

Executive Summary

April advanced OrthoHuddle into a broader operating platform for clinic teams, with stronger pathway content governance, richer patient education, clearer longitudinal outcome visibility, and more mature billing and security foundations.

The release supports ongoing multi-clinic growth by reducing administration, preserving continuity for patients already in care, and strengthening confidence in the data, communications, and access controls that support clinical workflows.

New Features

  • Added Library Content management for reusable patient information, to-do tasks, and personal messages, giving authorised pathway editors a clearer way to create, search, reuse, and maintain shared content.
  • Added video-enabled pathway education with visibility into patient viewing activity, helping teams understand when key education material is being engaged with.
  • Added an unpublished pathway lifecycle so teams can pause a pathway for new onboarding while existing patients keep access to their live care tasks.
  • Added historical progress overlays for patient outcome charts so clinicians can compare current recovery with relevant prior cases when historical data is available.
  • Added practice billing management for authorised administrators, including subscription handling and payment-status notifications.
  • Added SMS-based signup and sign-in support where enabled by a clinic, giving eligible patients another route into their care program.
  • Expanded clinical library coverage with additional procedures and outcome measures across paediatric knee, ACL donor site morbidity, hand, wrist, foot, ankle, shoulder, knee, and hip contexts.

Improvements

  • Improved the invite-patient workflow with clearer staff steps, branded QR-code presentation, app-install previews, and browser guidance for patients using unsupported browsers.
  • Improved pathway authoring with templated text placeholders, a simpler rich-text toolbar, consistent item-editing layouts, and visible action controls at higher browser zoom levels.
  • Improved protocol setup with stronger stage timing validation and left-hand navigation that correctly filters protocol lists.
  • Improved patient creation by checking for duplicate email addresses before submission, reducing duplicate records and follow-up administration for clinic staff.
  • Improved Insights and dashboard reporting by grouping procedures by focus area, making activity and outcomes easier to review for multi-specialty practices.
  • Improved patient progress and case timeline views with clearer charts, better tooltip and dropdown behaviour, and surgical direction context where relevant.
  • Improved intra-op forms so clinic-specific custom dropdown values can be reused in relevant future forms, reducing repeated entry for surgical teams.
  • Improved patient chat and invitation workflows with automatic scroll after new messages, clearer message-count behaviour, and the ability to revoke patient invitations when needed.
  • Improved pathway exports with a simpler export flow while keeping consent-aware defaults for study pathways.

Fixes

  • Fixed retrospective library additions so past-dated messages, measures, and to-do items are not created or sent for patient timelines where the relevant date has already passed.
  • Fixed protocol workflow error handling so staff receive actionable messages when creating, updating, assigning, importing, or deleting protocols does not succeed.
  • Fixed a patient-name display issue that could leave names blank in message and report-related workflows.
  • Fixed pathway measure title fallbacks so specialist and non-standard pathway tasks no longer appear with unclear titles.
  • Fixed pathway detail refresh behaviour so library content edits are reflected without requiring staff to manually reload the page.
  • Fixed patient message read-state behaviour so message indicators clear after patients visit their messages page.
  • Fixed post-deployment loading failures by refreshing once before reporting an error, reducing dead-end screens for users.
  • Fixed patient onboarding name handling so accidental leading or trailing spaces are removed before records are saved.

Security & Compliance

  • Expanded encryption coverage for sensitive patient and clinic data across core workflows.
  • Added ongoing checks to help detect whether sensitive-data protection remains consistently applied over time.
  • Strengthened service access controls by replacing legacy long-lived credentials with more tightly governed service access.
  • Restricted Library Content editing to appropriately authorised users and strengthened profile isolation around shared content.
  • Improved authenticator app setup labels so staff can more easily identify the correct OrthoHuddle sign-in entry on their device.

Integrations & Interoperability

  • Integrated billing event handling with the payment platform so subscription and payment status changes can be reflected more reliably.
  • Added duplicate protection for payment events so the same billing update is processed once, reducing duplicate alerts and support follow-up.
  • Improved SMS and mobile-number handling with country-code-aware entry, supporting more consistent patient messaging and sign-in workflows.
  • Improved operational notifications for patient education video activity, billing events, invitations, and missing intra-op form information so the right teams receive timely context.
